Mariem Fahmi
Undergraduate Researcher
Mariem Fahmi is an undergraduate student at the University of Connecticut majoring in Physiology and Neurobiology on the pre-medical track. As a member of the ACORN Lab, she is interested in understanding the cognitive and neural processes underlying attention and behavior. She is particularly excited to contribute to the MAPLE study and gain experience with cognitive neuroscience research, including the use of behavioral and neuroimaging methods to better understand how the brain processes information. Beyond her academics and research, Mariem values opportunities to connect with and support others. She enjoys mentoring, serving her campus community, and being involved in organizations that bring people together. These experiences have strengthened her interest in understanding people from both a scientific and human perspective, which she hopes to carry into her future career in medicine.
