Graduate Student

Caitlin Baten is a PhD student in Psychological Sciences at UConn, originally from Fresno, California. She earned her M.A. at California State University, Fresno, where she employed multilevel kernel density analysis in fMRI meta-analyses to explore the effects of age and length of illness on neural activation differences between youth and adults diagnosed with major depressive disorder. Caitlin is dedicated to increasing participation in science and is particularly passionate about mentoring the next generation of scientists. Caitlin’s research interests are focused on developmental diversity and utilizes tools from neuroscience to investigate individual differences in attentional development. Caitlin is currently in UConn’s TRANSdisciplinary Convergence in Educational Neuroscience Doctoral (TRANSCEND) program, where she receives training in equity-focused, transdisciplinary neuroscience research. Beyond the lab, Caitlin is passionate about yoga, meditation, cooking, reading classics, and spending time with her cat, Clara.
